Science in Year 4 develops our understanding of: electricity, sound, the digestive system, animals and adaptations, teeth, properties of materials and the water cycle. We learn through hands-on, group work where investigation is key and recording what we discover helps us to develop our scientific understanding.
We explored the melting point of chocolate and when it changes its state
We explore the water cycle using hands on learning and study change over time
Discovering our digestive system
We learn all about our digestive system and teeth in Year 4. We begin by labelling our bodies to try and find the different organs required to allow food to make its incredible journey through the body. As well as researching, investigating and enquiring, we like to find interesting facts, for example, did you know that your small intestine is nearly 7m long?
