At Saltergate, safeguarding is a responsibility for everyone.
If you have any concerns about a child, no matter how minor, please contact
or
01423 508552 or come in to talk to us.
The definition used in the Children Act 2004, and in Working together to safeguard children 2015 can be summarised as:
Nothing is more important to us than safeguarding children from harm. We train on an annual basis, with more in-depth training for the DSP and DDSP. There is a range of documents that we follow closely to support us in our work.
Each year we update our own school Child Protection Policy (Please see below)
If you have any concerns at all which you would like to share with us, please call in at any time to speak with the headteacher (or either of the deputies in the absence of the headteacher).
Schools are subject to a duty under section 26 of the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015, in the exercise of their functions, to have "due regard to the need to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism". This duty is known as the Prevent duty.
All staff in our school have completed the training related to this duty.
