The Oak Academy

The Oak National Academy offers daily lessons which you can participate in throughout the week. Here’s the information from last week in case you missed it.

Oak National Academy

The new enterprise has been created by 40 teachers from some of the leading schools across England and is funded by the Department of Education.
The Academy provides access to 180 video lessons per week, for every year group from Reception through to Year 10.

The lessons span a broad range of subjects, including maths, art and languages, and feature a corresponding quiz and worksheet.
Each lesson lasts for one hour and the portal will provide the equivalent of three hours of lessons per day for primary students.

This system builds on skills and knowledge throughout the week so make sure you are ready for lessons on Monday morning!

On the website, please enter the classroom, click on schedule and join in with the learning opportunities. https://www.thenational.academy

Twinkl

To support us during this period, Twinkl is offering every parent access to all Twinkl resources so our pupils can still have access to high-quality learning during any periods of disruption.

Setting this up is really easy to do - go to www.twinkl.co.uk/offer and enter the code UKTWINKLHELPS.

Please follow the above link to sign up for your One Month Ultimate Membership FREE of charge.

URBrainy

URBrainy have produced weekly packs of maths activities/worksheets for Years 1 - 6 that parents can access free of charge so that they can support children while they are at home.

They have selected six sets for each pack from our large collection of high quality resources, with each pack concentrating on a particular area of maths. A pack will have approximately a week’s work.

To make it as easy as possible, these can be accessed with any account, including a free trial, even if it has expired. Simply login and click on the ‘Maths Worksheets’ tab along the top of the screen and then select ‘Free Home Study Packs’.

New users can access these resources by signing up for a free trial accountno payment details are necessary.

Phonics Play

In response to the ongoing situation, we have decided to make PhonicsPlay free to use during this period.
Children can use the site at home without their parents needing to subscribe. To access our resources all you need to do is log on using the following details.

Username: march20
Password: home

Our aim to ensure that existing subscribers aren’t disadvantaged and will seek to make sure that after the school closures are over and the site returns to normal, that existing subscribers have additional time added to their subscription. If you haven’t already discovered www.phonicsplaycomics.co.uk you may also find these free decodable comics useful at a time when you can’t physically exchange your children’s decodable reading books.

We wish you good health and all the very best at this stressful time.

Scholastic

We know that missing school isn’t easy for your kids—or for you. But we also know that there are simple ways to turn unexpected time at home into exciting opportunities for your students to learn, think, and grow.

That is why we’ve created Scholastic’s Learn at Home website. This free resource provides your children with 20* days of exciting articles and stories, videos, and fun learning challenges. Children can complete them anytime, in any order. They can work on their own or together with you and your family.

www.scholastic.com/learnathome

Our active learning journeys are available on any device and will provide your child with up to three hours’ worth of exciting learning experiences per day. They can go on virtual field trips, meet best-selling authors, or dig deep into a topic they love.
