We had a really interesting day learning about 'Earth Day.' This year's theme was 'Restore The Earth.' First of all, we had a lively discussion about how we can all help to protect and take care of our earth. One of our children said 'we only have one earth so we have to look after it!' We discussed how we could turn off lights and taps, recycle, reuse and reduce rubbish and take shorter showers. Then we focused most of our learning on plastic pollution. We read a story called 'Somebody Swallowed Stanley.' Then we reused some materials from school to make sea creatures. We designed and made posters about how we could help to restore our earth. Finally, we had great fun making kites by reusing plastic carrier bags. We all learnt so much information and had great fun too!
