The children's participation of The Christmas Posada
The children from the Infant school had the wonderful opportunity to take part in the passing of The Christmas Posada through our Community. The Christmas Posada refers to an 'inn' or 'shelter' in Spanish and it represents the bible story of Mary and Joseph's journey to Bethlehem and their search for a place to stay.
The Posada box held knitted dolls of Mary and Joseph and the children got to have a look and talk about the tradition as well as the journey Mary and Joseph made. The Posada came from one of the Bilton Methodist Church's and we passed it onto Woodfield Primary School.

All the children had a lovely time visiting The Evangelical Church in Jennyfields where they learnt about the Christian faith and all its values. They even got to take a dry dip in the Baptistry where people of this faith get baptized. There was lots of interesting objects around the church that the children could investigate and ask questions about.

In RE we have been learning about Harvest and we had a wonderful ‘Rainbow’ harvest assembly to celebrate our local community. Each class chose a colour and prepared a short song about their favourite coloured food. Reverand Johnathan Bond told the story of the Enormous Turnip and how we must all work together and how important we all our, right down to the tiny mouse.
We supported the local Styan Centre with all our food donations. We went to visit the Styan centre with our food donations and sang some of our special Harvest songs.
