To enhance our children's learning in history, we visited a world famous open air museum near Newcastle, called Beamish. During this visit, our children took part in amazing learning opportunities as they walked around the authentic Victorian streets, travelled on trams and buses, experienced a 'Victorian' school lesson and watched sweets and bread being made. They also took part in a fun packed workshop where they actively completed domestic chores in a Victorian house, using Victorian artefacts. They even really enjoyed emptying the chamber pots! At the end of the visit they all enjoyed spending their pocket money in the shop. What a fantastic time we all had!
