In 2016, we had more appeals for school places than any other North Yorkshire primary school  : )

We have been oversubscribed for the last four years. We are proud to be making a positive impact in our community.

Please make early enquiries if you need before and after school wrap around care as the club is very busy.

Please do not feel that you have to do anything more in order to accept your school place. As far as we are concerned, all children on our allocations list for September 2018 will have a place here.

In the first few weeks we will send you some information regarding

  • a meeting for parents
  • dates for your child to visit their new class
  • school uniform
  • your child’s starting date in September
  • your child’s class

A couple of important issues for parents to consider:

Free school meals for all infant children from September 2014. You may have heard about universal free school meals. All children in the infant school will be eligible for a hot meal. The food is locally sourced and of a high quality. We currently serve more hot meals than packed lunches. Our meaningful lunchtime experience for children is one of our key priorities; it is a lovely experience for all children. We will send out menus before the end of this term so that you and your child can select their choice of food.  A Packed lunch is the other dining option if children feel more comfortable with familiar foods.

Holidays in term time.

You may have heard about the changes (from September 2013) to taking holidays in term time. This isn’t acceptable anymore. There are a few exceptional circumstances to taking a child out of school. All family holidays are considered to be unauthorised and potentially, fines will be made by the local authority.

I think that is all for now. We are really looking forward to building partnerships and working with you.

We have a happy school. Our last visitor shared these lovely words,

“There is joy and laughter throughout the school”

Happiness is everything.

My Best Wishes,
